$80 only to solve your problem

This gentleman who visited us yesterday has "pits" on his upper lateral incisor. He is bothered by them but didn't know that something can be done. When he came to us for yearly dental check up, dentist advised him to do a filling on it.

After he knew the pits can be covered, he was so excited to see th results.
Many people are afraid to fill these cavities for fear that the filling will look worse than the decay.

Below picture shown after he done with the filling.
What do you think? Composite blends in nicely with the natural tooth.

Are you having the same problem with him? If it is yes, what i can tell you is... YOU ONLY NEED $80 TO SOLVE THIS PROBLEM!!!

What are you waiting for? Email me now for the appointment!

Crowning case

Today i will be sharing another crowning case. This middle aged lady has an obvious problem. Her 2 old crowns have come loose and her dentist failed to replace them in their original positions, which is understandable because they have detriorated so much.

My dentist advised her to redo her PFM crowns with emax crowns. After seeing what we have done for her daughter, she agreed.

Before.
After.

The 2 old PFM crowns have deteriorated so much, it was impossible to seat them proper after they were dislodged. At the same time, we notice the gap between the crowns as well.

Did you notice that her original crowns were also protruding? That's the problem that she didn't have a choice of a better system back then. Definitely she needs a redo for her crowns.

We removed her old PFMs, masked the underlying colour. Impressions were taken. The stumps were temporarily covered with temporary crown material. After one week time, her emax crowns were delievered.

My dentist also suggested her to have a veneer on the lateral incisor would be perfect.

Why Should You Consider Dental Implants Than Dentures / Bridge?

Do you have a missing tooth? If you have had the experience of having missing tooth or more teeth, you may know well what it’s like to live with an unattractive smile, reduced biting efficiency, embarrassment from loose dentures, and pain or difficulty with eating.

Fabricating a bridge to replace the missing teeth usually necessitates trimming down adjacent, sometimes perfectly healthy natural teeth.

Most of our complaint that their dentures giving them problems. Most probably they will complaint about their dentures are bulky, unstable, painful or even hurting their gum, or they cant really bite or speech.

Few months back, an European businessman came to our clinic. He had a missing tooth. I remembered he told me that he came to Singapore for a meeting. At that night, he lost his denture because he was 'too drank". At the end, he decided to have a implant restoration in our clinic.

Dental Implants can support teeth that look very natural and showing your confidence smile. Physically, dental implants allow you to eat and chew. On the other hand, you can speak without any discomfort.

Emergency Dental Case

Saturday morning when i reached clinic was about 9.10am, i received a phone call from the young man. He claimed that he lost his denture when he was drunk. He wants to get a denture "as soon as possible". Well, when i asked him how "soon" is that? He said he need to fly off on Monday morning, so of cause he needs the denture on Saturday. Oh well, we can get something done for him but is not denture. The Dentures typically take 1 week to make. Quickly, he came over to our clinic at about 12pm.

The picture above show that he has a missing tooth.

Closer examindation reveals that the space is not quite sufficient for a central incisor.

Judicious trimming was done on both adjacent teeth. We built a composite bridge for him on the spot.

The composite tooth was held in place by a metal wire at the back. All done in 1 hour. The patient was ready to fly off for his meeting. He'll be returning for his denture and implant surgery.

Your Implant Charges is SO EXPENSIVE!!!

I have something GOOD today! I would like to share with those who needs an implant. Please, is dental implant. NOT BREAST IMPLANT.

First of all, i would like to ask, do you know how much does a dental implant plus crown cost? According to the survey that i got through internet, the average total was about $3,200. Which means that breaks down to $1,800 for the dental implant, $1,400 for the crown, and an additional $600 for a custom abutment.

"Implant fees are too high," complained from our patients.

Do you believe [From a patient management perspective, charging a separate fee for an abutment is much more agreeable to the patient than charging a higher fee for an implant crown]? Please allow me to make a simple comparation our clinic and one of the local dental clinic.

xxx Dental Clinic (Assistant = A; Patient = P)

P: How much do you charge for an implant?

A: $1500 ++ for implant surgery.

P: Hmmm... that's reasonable price.

A: Yes. We never over charge to our patient.

P: Is there any extra charges?

A: Yes, if required for x-ray, medicines, and specialist like oral surgeon or prosthodontic.

P: Ok, can i fix appointment for the implant surgery.

On the sugery day, before the patient enter to the surgery room, she signed a medisave form which can help her to pay for the partial fees. She was so happy that she no need to pay so much in cash. And the assistant also took one x-ray for her. After she did the surgery. The amount that she needs to pay is $2033.00. The billed items are 1800 for implant surgery, $50 for x-ray and another $50 for medicines, and gst.

While she waiting for the medicines, one of the assistant followed up with her for the next appointment which is remove stitches. $50 for removable stitches. The others followed up would be for review, abutment, and crowning which costs her more than $2000. So, the total is $4033.

Are You Able To Claim Medisave For Wisdom Tooth Surgery?

Are You Able To Claim Medisave For Wisdom Tooth Surgery?

Medisave have been and will always be our clinic's policy to help our patients claim the maximum amount that MOH and CPF Board allow.
Well, we are not in the position to dictate or even advise our patients on what to do with their own money.
The maximum claimable amounts stipulated by MOH are not meant to cover 100% of the bill. As private practitioners, however, we always try our best to charge and claim in a way that results in no cash payment on the part of our patients.
Nevertheless, this is not always possible. MOH has very rigid guidelines on the maximum claimable amount for a particular type of wisdom tooth condition. At the MOH side, the evaluation is based purely in xrays.

X-rays below shown that the type of wisdom tooth are able to claim by Medisave.

There's quite a number of our patients managed to claimed medisave for their wisdom tooth surgery. 90% of them no need to pay any single for us for the whole process.

De-stressing and Detoxification

Eye Point / Facial Stimulation

In this exercise, by applying the principle of Acu-Pressure, we stimulate the optic nerves and certain muscles around the eye socket as well as some facial muscles. This exercise can help reduce the attendant symptoms of headaches and eyestrain.

Method:
Rub the palms together and when the palms and fingers feel warm, begin stimulating the "eye points" (close to the edge of the socketthroughout) and facial points.

Acu Pressure is applied using the fingers to press and gently "thread" on the points (using smooth curcular / rotational movements) as highlighted in the diagram below.
  • Inside corner of the eyebrow
  • Middle of the eyebrow
  • Outer corner of the eyebrow
  • Directly below the centre of the eye
  • The hollow part below the cheek bone
  • Between the nose and upper lip
  • Cup the eyes after rubbing the palms together

The Happening of Lantern Festival

The Mid-Autumn Festival has a history of 2000 years. During these 2000 years lots of Mid-Autumn traditions have been thought up by Chinese people. All the celebrations show the happiness and excitement of people.

The main celebrations during the Mid-Autumn Festival are appreciating the moon, eating moon cakes together and making Chinese Mid-Autumn Festival lanterns. These three celebrations have been passed from generation to generation. Chinese people may think the Mid-Autumn Festival is not coming if they don’t do these three things.

Do you want to know what ancient Chinese people said about the festival? I would like to share with you about the legends of Chang'e and Hou Yi and The Jade Rabbit

Chang'e and Hou Yi:
Long long ago, there were 10 suns on the sky. They burnt all the plants on the earth. People were dying.
One day, a hero whose name was Hou Yi used his bow and arrows to shoot down nine of them. All the people on the earth were saved.
One day, the queen of heaven gave Hou Yi a bottle elixir which could make Hou Yi become an immortal but the elixir was only efficacious for one person. Hou Yi did want to become an immortal but he wanted to stay with her beautiful wife Chang'e more, so he didn't drink the elixir and asked his wife Chang'e to keep it for him.
Hou Yi was becoming more and more famous after he shot down the nine suns and more and more men wanted Hou Yi to be their master. Most of them were accepted by Hou Yi.
Not every student of Hou Yi had good morality. Feng Meng, one of his students, wanted to seize his elixir. One day, Hou Yi went hunting with his students but Feng Meng pretended to be ill and stay at home. When making sure Hou Yi had gone he went to Hou Yi's house and tried to force Chang'e to give him the elixir. Chang'e knew she couldn't defeat Feng Meng so she drank the elixir immediately. The elixir made her become an immortal and fly higher and higher. Finally, she stopped on the moon.
From then on, people often pray Chang'e for fortune and safety. Especially on the Mid-Autumn Festival they prepared lots of foods for Chang'e.

The Jade Rabbit
One day, three immortals who were living in the heaven came to the earth. They asked a fox, a monkey and a rabbit to find some food for them respectively. The fox and the monkey both found something for the three immortals while the rabbit got nothing. The rabbit felt very sorry for the three immortals. Finally, he jumped into the fire and said to the three immortals "eat me, please!" the three immortal were deep moved by the rabbit. They decided to entitle the rabbit a reputation of "Jade Rabbit" and let him accompany Chang'e in the Moon Palace.

Appreciating the Moon
Appreciating the moon has been a custom since Tang Dynasty. Not only the rich merchants and officials but also the common citizens liked appreciating the moon together at that time. The rich merchants and officials held big parties in their big courts. They drank and appreciated the bright moon. Music and dances are also indispensable. The common citizens just prayed to the moon for a good harvest.

Nowadays, people also like appreciating the moon on Mid-Autumn Festival. Chinese Family members have dinner together in the evening of Mid-Autumn Festival. After the dinner, they may talk about their work, the children, and their future plans. Sometimes, people go to park to see the decorations which were made only for the Festival.

Moon Cakes

At the end of Yuan Dynasty (a dynasty built by the Mongols), Han people’s army wanted to overthrow the rule of Mongols so they planed an uprising but they had no way to inform every Han people who wanted to join them the time of the uprising without being discovered by the Mongols. One day, the military counselor of Han people’s army Liu Bowen thought out a stratagem related to moon cakes. On one hand, Liu Bowen asked his soldiers to spread the rumor that there would be a serious disease in winter and eating moon cakes was the only way to cure the disease; on the other hand, he asked soldiers to write "uprising, at the night of Mid-autumn Festival" on papers and put them into moon cakes then sell them to common Han people. When the night of the Mid-Autumn Festival came the huge uprising broke out. From then on, people eat moon cakes on every Mid-Autumn Festival to commemorate the uprising.
Nowadays, people also like appreciating the moon on Autumn Moon Festival. Family members have dinner together in the evening of the Festival.

Making Chinese Mid-Autumn Lanterns

Mid-Autumn lanterns are not as colorful as the ones in  Lantern Festival. There is no big lantern party during Mid-Autumn Festival but the children like making colorful lanterns very much. They make lanterns of different shapes and let them float on the rivers. They won’t leave the riversides until the light of the lanterns disappears. Sometimes, they make the Hung Ming lantern which can fly because the burning candles heat the air in the lantern. The lantern rises with the heated air.

Cheap, Fast Tooth Whitening

Tooth whitening procedures may be broadly divided into 2 categories. The more common and readily available method is the DIY, take home kit. Several brands of take-home DIY bleaching kits are available OTC at many pharmacies. They can even be ordered online or through TV ads. These fully DIY kits are economical and relatively safe but they generally don't work for just about everybody.

In our clinic, we offered our patients this 9.5% hydrogen peroxide gels which we routinely use nowadays. This is even more powerful than the normal whitening gels.

By using 9.5% hydrogen peroxide gel, full whitening potential can be realised after just 9 applications. However, it is important to note that in order for the gel to work optimally, the dentist has to issue you with a custom-made bleaching tray.

He would first take an impression of the your mouth and make impression models from them. The customised plastic bleaching trays have to be vacuum formed and trimmed. This customised bleaching tray will be issued to you along with several syringes of bleaching gel. You will be instructed on how to syringe the gel into the appropriate reservoirs and then wear them over your teeth for at least a couple of hours every day.

With the newest fast-acting gels, 9 applications over 4.5 days are all it takes to whiten your teeth.

Improved Her Smile

Dental crowns are widely known as dental restoration which completely caps or encircles a tooth or dental  implant and is typically bonded to the tooth using a dental cement.

Study Case:
Two weeks ago, this very attractive lady came to our clinic. She claimed that she has been living with a crooked front tooth for ages. It affects her smile and her confidence. Since putting on braces is not an option, she decided to consult us.

The picture below shown her crooked central incisor (Left).

Her crooked tooth that spoiled her beautiful smile. There is an obvious displacement and overlap of that tooth. From this angle, the left central incisor seems to overlap the other tooth.

Our dentist did the trimming of the crooked tooth for her, as well as taking impression to prepared for the new crown.

The picture above shown the crown back from the lab after 1 week time.

The crown fitted in her mouth.
Dont you feel it's so amazing that the crown is indistinguishable from the natural tooth.
Of cause there's an improved image.

Let me show you the difference {before and after}.

She feels so happy after see the results.

Even if nobody notices it, the patient is more confident whether she's conducting a class or posing for the camera.
