Do you have a missing tooth? If you have had the experience of having missing tooth or more teeth, you may know well what it’s like to live with an unattractive smile, reduced biting efficiency, embarrassment from loose dentures, and pain or difficulty with eating.
Fabricating a bridge to replace the missing teeth usually necessitates trimming down adjacent, sometimes perfectly healthy natural teeth.
Most of our complaint that their dentures giving them problems. Most probably they will complaint about their dentures are bulky, unstable, painful or even hurting their gum, or they cant really bite or speech.
Few months back, an European businessman came to our clinic. He had a missing tooth. I remembered he told me that he came to Singapore for a meeting. At that night, he lost his denture because he was 'too drank". At the end, he decided to have a implant restoration in our clinic.
Dental Implants can support teeth that look very natural and showing your confidence smile. Physically, dental implants allow you to eat and chew. On the other hand, you can speak without any discomfort.

Emergency Dental Case

Saturday morning when i reached clinic was about 9.10am, i received a phone call from the young man. He claimed that he lost his denture when he was drunk. He wants to get a denture "as soon as possible". Well, when i asked him how "soon" is that? He said he need to fly off on Monday morning, so of cause he needs the denture on Saturday. Oh well, we can get something done for him but is not denture. The Dentures typically take 1 week to make. Quickly, he came over to our clinic at about 12pm.
The picture above show that he has a missing tooth.
Closer examindation reveals that the space is not quite sufficient for a central incisor.
Judicious trimming was done on both adjacent teeth. We built a composite bridge for him on the spot.
The composite tooth was held in place by a metal wire at the back. All done in 1 hour. The patient was ready to fly off for his meeting. He'll be returning for his denture and implant surgery.

Your Implant Charges is SO EXPENSIVE!!!
I have something GOOD today! I would like to share with those who needs an implant. Please, is dental implant. NOT BREAST IMPLANT.
First of all, i would like to ask, do you know how much does a dental implant plus crown cost? According to the survey that i got through internet, the average total was about $3,200. Which means that breaks down to $1,800 for the dental implant, $1,400 for the crown, and an additional $600 for a custom abutment.
"Implant fees are too high," complained from our patients.
Do you believe [From a patient management perspective, charging a separate fee for an abutment is much more agreeable to the patient than charging a higher fee for an implant crown]? Please allow me to make a simple comparation our clinic and one of the local dental clinic.

xxx Dental Clinic (Assistant = A; Patient = P)
P: How much do you charge for an implant?
A: $1500 ++ for implant surgery.
P: Hmmm... that's reasonable price.
A: Yes. We never over charge to our patient.
P: Is there any extra charges?
A: Yes, if required for x-ray, medicines, and specialist like oral surgeon or prosthodontic.
P: Ok, can i fix appointment for the implant surgery.
On the sugery day, before the patient enter to the surgery room, she signed a medisave form which can help her to pay for the partial fees. She was so happy that she no need to pay so much in cash. And the assistant also took one x-ray for her. After she did the surgery. The amount that she needs to pay is $2033.00. The billed items are 1800 for implant surgery, $50 for x-ray and another $50 for medicines, and gst.
While she waiting for the medicines, one of the assistant followed up with her for the next appointment which is remove stitches. $50 for removable stitches. The others followed up would be for review, abutment, and crowning which costs her more than $2000. So, the total is $4033.

Are You Able To Claim Medisave For Wisdom Tooth Surgery?
Medisave have been and will always be our clinic's policy to help our patients claim the maximum amount that MOH and CPF Board allow.
Well, we are not in the position to dictate or even advise our patients on what to do with their own money.
The maximum claimable amounts stipulated by MOH are not meant to cover 100% of the bill. As private practitioners, however, we always try our best to charge and claim in a way that results in no cash payment on the part of our patients.
Nevertheless, this is not always possible. MOH has very rigid guidelines on the maximum claimable amount for a particular type of wisdom tooth condition. At the MOH side, the evaluation is based purely in xrays.
X-rays below shown that the type of wisdom tooth are able to claim by Medisave.

There's quite a number of our patients managed to claimed medisave for their wisdom tooth surgery. 90% of them no need to pay any single for us for the whole process.

The Happening of Lantern Festival
Long long ago, there were 10 suns on the sky. They burnt all the plants on the earth. People were dying.
At the end of Yuan Dynasty (a dynasty built by the Mongols), Han people’s army wanted to overthrow the rule of Mongols so they planed an uprising but they had no way to inform every Han people who wanted to join them the time of the uprising without being discovered by the Mongols. One day, the military counselor of Han people’s army Liu Bowen thought out a stratagem related to moon cakes. On one hand, Liu Bowen asked his soldiers to spread the rumor that there would be a serious disease in winter and eating moon cakes was the only way to cure the disease; on the other hand, he asked soldiers to write "uprising, at the night of Mid-autumn Festival" on papers and put them into moon cakes then sell them to common Han people. When the night of the Mid-Autumn Festival came the huge uprising broke out. From then on, people eat moon cakes on every Mid-Autumn Festival to commemorate the uprising.Posted by Cosmetic Dentistry in Singapore at 9:03 PM 0 comments
